We awakened to a blazing sun, a good day for a walk. The grass still heavy with dew as we registered and made our donation.
With our ribbons fluttering in the breeze, we head down the trail. We don't need a pep talk or jumping jacks with loud, blaring music to get us going.
There are no crowds, no bikers, no dogs so in a little over an hour we have 7km behind us. It feels good.

The neighbour brought over a second batch of peaches and seeing as the freezer is already full of bins of quartered peaches, I decided to make our favourite dessert- Peach Kuchen. I love this recipe because you mix everything right in the baking pan, no need to use a bowl, less things to wash, but it just works beautifully. Now we have a bin of Peach Kuchen in the freezer for those cold winter nights when we have cravings for summer.

It was hot, crowded, and noisy but despite all that we had the most fun at Davison Orchards in Vernon. After filling the van with fruit and veggies, bread and pies, we took a ride around the orchards in an apple box train pulled by a really big tractor.
The line-up for lunch was 45 minutes long; we ordered, paid, and were given a hockey puck shaped buzzer to take back to our table. When it buzzed we picked up our lunch at the kitchen window. Lunch was served in actual pie-plates. The food was good but the pies were even better.
