Big weekend: Day one

Dinner at Burgoo; Italian white bean dip and French onion soup. So good!

Then we strolled through Gastown with the thousands of other people and dropped in to the Beggars Banquet. Lots of neat vintage stuff on sale; Maura bought a t-shirt/dress and I managed to find a Canadian patch in a pile of all Yankee stuff and the seller, an Australian dude gave it to me for nothing. Nice guy!

Big weekend

My bags are packed, I have my ticket, my umbrella, and I am ready for a weekend in the big city.

Puppy love

Today was Farmers' Market day; stalls selling everything from Roma tomato plants, button necklaces, Mayan beans, raspberry canes to burp cloths for babies. But I could not concentrate on work when I saw this little fellow right outside my window.

Paper, plastic, or this

This bag started life as a napkin, albeit a huge napkin which lent itself perfectly for a small shopping tote. It is lined and has an over-sized pocket on the inside.

Priceless!

If we ever decide to put our home on the market, the open house will be held during sunset.

Basil babies

Outside it is cold, windy, and rainy. Inside our kitchen bump-out it is warm and steamy which is why the basil is doing so well. Every year I plant the huge basil pot but this year I also started a small pot because it will make a tasty gift for someone.
This year we got a little surprise; two seedlings in the large pot. I'm thinking sunflowers but Okanagan Boy (aka Mr. Cowboy) thinks that they might be cucumbers. We'll just have to wait and see.

Bag block

A friend ordered this in March for a special day in August. I thought about it for a week but it only took me one afternoon to stitch up this bag. The problem being that I have so much fabric to choose from that it literally blocks the creative process.
