Monday, Monday

A co-worker gave me yellow romas to try; I've never had yellow romas but they are quite tasty. Of course, any tomato will taste good when bathed in olive oil, seasoned with fresh basil and layered with fat slices of bocconcini.

Our million dollar view is now priceless as the neighbour removes the dead trees and cuts back on the healthy ones. They were nice trees.

Finally jarred up my lavender that has been drying since June. Looking forward to making sachets for the winter sale.

What do you do with a huge zucchini from a friend's garden? I made Chocolate Zucchini Cake; recipe from BC Woman magazine from November 1991. This cake is so good due to the combination of butter and vegetable oil and a dollop of buttermilk. Of course, the chocolate chips sprinkled over the top make it extra special.

Pretty sure some of that lavender should be used to make some lemon lavender shortbread or something! Mmm. Glad you enjoyed the tomato. I should bring in some of my purple and green cherry tomatoes, too!

I love lavender but I just don't care to eat it. I haven't tried it yet so one of these days I will bake with it.
