Baking and hiking

You'd think that anything that involves fresh fruit would be a good, healthy snack for you. Yes, these bars are made with butter and almond butter. We cut back on the sugar and poured in extra vanilla. But they are so good that one is not enough.

Which is why we hiked up to the radio tower in the heat of a late Sunday morning. We had to stop in the shade a few times but TG, my baking helper, motored up to the very top without even breaking a sweat. We enjoyed the view and the breeze as an eagle hovered over our heads.
