Two favourites

This time, during my visit with Mom we made two of my favourites - gnocchi and cookies. I brought potatoes from Rock Creek and the dumplings turned out tender and tasty.

The cookies we made are loaded with the juice and zest of one lemon. Very simple recipe but oh so good.

Just discovered your blog via Cafe Cartolina. You must be italian. I had relatives who used to make fresh gnocchi too but it was a long time ago already and my Dad, the youngest boy, never learned. Thanks for the nice pics!

I saw on a show where they roasted the potatoes instead of boiling them for gnocci, have you ever done that?
